The Dodgers are funding assaults on their own fans! The organization is one of the listed donors to the Los Angeles Police Foundation, which wants to purchase two horses for the LAPD Mounted Platoon — seen clubbing Dodger fans in Echo Park during World Series celebrations.

Is former LAPD Chief Michel Moore doing an ad for an LAPD contractor? Surely there’s no conflict of interest here.

I’m sure there are sincere, hardworking members, but as an organization DSA-LA effectively endorses the policies of Karen Bass: sweeps of homeless Angelenos; an LAPD that assaults journalists & peaceful protesters while collaborating with ICE; and deteriorating city infrastructure.

Let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like a mighty stream … unless the mayoral election is anything less than 7 months away.

Rev. Rae Huang painted a picture of a better, more livable Los Angeles at today’s launch of her campaign for Mayor of Los Angeles:

🏡 Housing for all

🚍 Fast, safe, and free transit

🌻 Living wages with dignity for all

LA’s strength is its people, its neighborhoods. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like we’ve had leaders who are looking out for us, or with the vision to make our city a more livable place. It doesn’t have to be this way. Let’s turn the page and make City Hall serve the people. bit.ly/4pizWPP

Mayor Bass’ administration is potentially the most corrupt in the modern history of Los Angeles. Having bucked oversight of homelessness spending by the elected city controller, it now tries to evade scrutiny by a federal judge’s monitor, verging on contempt of court. www.latimes.com/california/s...

Austin Beutner can’t even take a position on the city policy he seems to be criticizing the most: utility rate increases. www.latimes.com/california/s...

If Austin Beutner thinks highlighting the affordability crisis will fill the sails of his campaign as it did Zohran’s, he should remember that Zohran’s campaign offered tangible policies (free childcare, free buses, etc.) to address said crisis, not just “transparency” vaporware.

“Karen Bass is the most progressive mayor we’ve ever had in L.A.”

News comes via @UnrigLA on Twitter (@unrigla.bsky.social on Bsky), who noticed Huang’s name appearing among candidates in city campaign finance reports.

Zohran Mamdani’s campaign for NYC mayor has been inspiring. Here in LA, though, we’ve been facing a dismal choice in 2026 between failed Mayor Bass and someone to her right.

Until today. LA now appears to have the candidate it needs and deserves for mayor: Rae Chen Huang, a social housing advocate!

Don’t be surprised if Trump unconstitutionally “federalizes” state and local police. Democrats have already built the architecture of fascism at the state and local level, where commanding officers of police forces like LAPD spew MAGA propaganda on official accounts. @agrobbonta.oag.ca.gov

In a pre-dawn raid, the National Park Service removed — and purposely split apart — a statue of Trump frolicking with Jeffrey Epstein that was under a permit to be displayed on the National Mall through Sunday.

It doesn’t apply to California Highway Patrol, because apparently Newsom wanted it that way.

LA Mayor Karen Bass endorses (former?) member of Fix the Debt, a group of mostly corporate elites advocating for cuts to Social Security and Medicare. Bonus points for the backing of Curren Price the council member being prosecuted on multiple counts of embezzlement, etc.

The Bret Stephens “Gaza-is-not-committing-genocide” op-ed is actually rather timely considering someone made the comment below just the day before, to an NYT story blaming the starvation and massacres in Gaza on Israel’s “failures” to plan for post-war. www.nytimes.com/2025/07/21/w...
