There's nothing in that article that provides any indication whatsoever for the basis that he "approved" of it. This is the closest we get, and it's at most highly ambiguous, consistent with Schumer trying (and failing) to derail the talks in public and private.

Also just… this reporting is basically incoherent. They haven't found anybody who supports Platner who has abandoned him, which sounds kinda like a null set until they admit that they did find some?
