I've never been one of the metaphysics types and also know nothing about weaving, but I'm now picturing "reality" as a substance / plane through which the threads of human lives are woven. Reality in this case would be the "true" world, the mirror worlds, and Tel'aran'rhiod.

With that said, too much use of balefire threatens the whole of reality, which suggests that there is at least some relationship between the physical world, threads, and the pattern as a whole.

Yeah I seem to recall that it just burns holes / cuts through objects, which is different from how it behaves with people. If it were Sanderson metaphysics objects would likely be burned out in the same way.

My consciousness is feeling pretty cloudy after reading that.
