He's pulling his radio out to bother San when he sees him coming around the bend, out of the thicket, a person trailing after him and nodding as San excitedly talks and motions with his arms, one of which is suddenly pointing in Jongho's direction as they step onto the dock. The stranger looks up and their bright, reddish-orange hair lights up as they step away from the shade. They're so obviously a tourist that Jongho almost snorts, quickly cataloguing their bizzare attire. It's early autumn, yet they're bundled up as if about to step into a snow globe, not a swamp down South, with red, pointy boots peeking out from under black dress pants, a thick, wool sweater with orange flowers knitted into the pattern worn under an impeccable trench coat, all topped off with a multicolour, striped scarf wrapped around their neck so tight it makes Jongho want to loosen it himself. They look.... "Jongho!" yells San, putting a loud end to his examination though they're a few meters apart now. "This is Mr. Kim—Hongjoong!—Wooyoungie's friend!" he says, bouncing a little on his heels. "And get this! He booked the whole thing, didn't you hyung?" Jongho blinks at Mr. Kim, Hongjoong, hyung-just Hongjoong is fine, Jongho decides-who looks a bit flushed and opens his mouth as if to speak, but doesn't get to. "Hongjoong-hyung is a fashion designer and he's traveling for research. You've gotta teach him everything you know!" exclaims San, grinning as he looks at their customer in awe. Jongho can admit he is intrigued. San must know it too, if the assholey glint in his eyes and smirk is any indication.

He falls upon the hot drink and breakfast with gusto, the turn of his stomach settled by the appearance of warm broth, mushrooms and green onion floating in the cloudy suspension. "'M not a spy," Hongjoong says between glugs. "Not that you'll believe me. It just happens to be the truth." The soup is distractingly good, salty and savory. He raises the bowl to his lips with both hands to finish it all. "And he likes the soup," Yeosang says, turning his eyes to Wooyoung with significance.

He watched Mingi in his periphery. “He’s very good-looking.” Mingi’s eyes narrowed. “Better looking than me?” Hongjoong could feel Mingi’s temper rising. It made his heart race; it made him want to be mean. “Answer,” Mingi said, sharper now. Hongjoong faced him. “Give me a compliment, and maybe I’ll give you one.” Mingi pushed off the wall. “Your red hair suits you,” he said, cigarette bobbing with each word. “It makes you look like one of your little poppies.” Hongjoong took a step closer. “Try again.” Mingi’s eyes flashed—desire or anger. After ten years, Hongjoong still couldn’t tell the difference. The cigarette burned down. “I’ve never wanted a man the way I want you.” Desire, then. Hongjoong moved toward him until the smoke stung his nostrils. Closer still, until he had to tilt his head back to meet Mingi’s eyes. All his life he’d hated being small, but with Mingi, it was his power. He heard the change in Mingi’s breath. “Prove it.”

Wooyoung knows good and well the most recent thing that’s been up Mingi’s ass is his own goddamn cock. He’s been deciding the pros and cons of having stuck it in there for the some-odd 22 hours since. So far, it’s not in Mingi’s favor. With 3 pros and 7 cons, it seems Mingi isn’t all Wooyoung thought he was cracked up to be. In fact, Wooyoung is genuinely impressed with how wrong he was about the man in front of him. Impressed but annoyed. Majorly annoyed. One of the highlighted, underlined, and starred pros on Wooyoung’s chart is that Mingi is unique. Wooyoung genuinely can’t pinpoint another person in his life who behaves like the man in front of him. He’s novel. It makes things entertaining. One of the cons, however, is that Mingi is a bitch. Upon their first meeting, Wooyoung had gone and made up this little story in his head where Mingi was cool and suave, but no. He’s a coward when it counts and so fucking sensitive. He’s chock full of nasty little comments, a good 1 in 5 of them making Wooyoung want to lunge for his jugular, if only just to teach him a lesson. The man is thoughtless about his words. Even worse, he can’t take the heat when Wooyoung tries to turn it into a game. Maybe that should be 5 cons. 3 to 12. Result? Mingi’s cooked. He should be grateful that this is Wooyoung’s favorite shitty dive bar, so he'd rather die than be the one to walk out. And he really needs the free drinks from San because of a delayed paycheck. And also it's freezing outside so he'd probably get hypothermia in his beat up leather jacket if he were to ignore a ride from Mingi. And worst of all, his favorite fucking hoodie is still at Mingi's apartment. There’s a lot of reasons he’s not going anywhere, okay? Despite making a majority of his living off street racing in a car that looks just like the one on screen, Mingi is ass at the video game he’s playing. Absolute dog shit. Wooyoung’s seen 7 year olds take cleaner turns. And fine, he knows the steering is over sensitive, and with all the jumps and power-ups, it’s nothing like gunning it down a highway stretch. Nothing like driving a real Charger or whatever Mingi had said like a pretentious fucking asshole. Wooyoung smirks when he hits a rock on the side of the course and his car flips. His foot being heavy on the gas does him no favors as he’s sent flying backwards. “Hey, stupid. You’re driving the wrong fucking way,” Wooyoung drawls. “Are you–!” Mingi slams down on the steering wheel with an open hand, the noise jarring. Wooyoung expected the outburst, but other patrons apparently didn’t. He grits his teeth when several pairs of eyes fall upon them. Fucking embarrassing. With frustration leaking out of every pore, Mingi stands up. “Fuck this. I’m getting a drink.” He stomps away, not even waiting for confirmation from Wooyoung. Not bothering to ask Wooyoung’s order. No offer to leave a message with San. Nada. Wooyoung watches his broad back aggressively slip past the crowd at the pool table, maybe hoping a teensy-tiny bit that he might remember common courtesy and turn around. He doesn’t. Wooyoung bares his teeth at the man on principle before sliding into the game’s chair. With one hand, he calmly guides Mingi’s car back in the right direction. As he drives, he finds a lot of satisfaction in being so much better than his date at his literal job. Right before Wooyoung crosses the finish line, Yeosang wanders over. Wooyoung had figured he was somewhere in the building. Probably vaping in the bathroom. Or dealing. Or doing both. The green haired man doesn’t say a word to Wooyoung, just leans against the side of the game, his hand around a clear cup of whatever the fuck he’s subjecting himself to in the name of a lesser hangover. “What?” Wooyoung asks once the leader board has popped up and he's so far down it, Mingi's name isn't even displayed. Yeosang shrugs and puts his drink to his lips. “Is this about my guest?” No reaction. “You hate him? You think he's annoying? You want to run a train on him? You want to fight him for my hand in marriage? You fucked his sister? You think his ass is nice?” The cup is lowered. “It is,” Yeosang says. Wooyoung is loath to admit his friend is correct. Mingi’s ass is extraordinary. He’ll probably jerk off to the way his fingers indented that thing as his cock was swallowed by it for months.
