Yeah, especially the part where she herself turned around and went the other way after we left. It wasn’t like she was trying to walk towards us, and I was impeding her by bringing a scary dog in her direction.

Totally valid! Especially if you’re not familiar with the breed, I can see how they could be scary. There was tons of other space she could’ve moved to, or if she had even asked me to turn around I would’ve done it happily. In this case, I did it sort of unhappily and confusedly.

And he would LOVE that. If he sees someone he thinks it’s a good prospect, he will literally sit down in the street and wait for them to come pat him.

As we got within about 6 ft of her she screamed this really intense little scream, still recording and staring at my Saint. I was like excuse me do you have a problem? She said nothing, didn’t move, kept recording, so I turned around and went the other way. Assured we were retreating, she left. 2/2

Weirdness, continued: I waited for this guy to pass, and then went on around the block, walking down a busy sidewalk. A lady was standing in the middle of the sidewalk, recording us as we came near. Not super uncommon since I have a St. Bernard and he’s kind of a spectacle. 1/2

They asked for us to share the story of an Episcopal priest from Kenya, who is here legally, with a work permit, and serving in a Swahili language Episcopal Ministry in a local church. He was randomly pulled over, detained for 2 months for absolutely no reason, until finally deciding to self deport.
