Book 20/150: Retrograde (Revolution Racing Book 2) by Emilee Carter
⭐️: 3.75/5 🌶️: 2.5/5

Taking place about a year after book 1, we follow besties Lucie and Brett through page after page of yearning and denial, which drags on a bit long. Less racing too. Easy but frustrating read.

Book 19/150: Evermore (Immortals Book 1) by Alyson Noel

A grief-stricken teen finds herself with psychic abilities when a strange guy crosses her path. Have they met before? Honestly, I wanted to smack the FMC for not being able to connect the dots. Still, an easy YA read.

Book 18/150: Faster by Andie J. Christopher
⭐️: 2.5/5 🌶️: 5/5

While technically an F1 romance, you could take F1 out of this book and make it about regular millionaires and it would still make sense. HUGE on spice but little character development. Not much resolution at the end. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Book 17/150: Crash Test by Amy James
⭐️: 4.5/5 🌶️: 4/5

Romantic relationship between an F1 and F2 driver is threatened to be exposed after a deadly collision on the track. Sweetness, heartbreak, redemption, and fast cars— something for everyone!

Book 16/150: Mindgame by Anthony Horowitz
⭐️: 4/5
I’m a fan of thrillers AND theatre, so this was my jam. From a director’s standpoint, this is fascinating; as an actor, this is all over the place. I believe the idea is stronger than the execution but would still be fun to stage!

Book 15/150: Chasing Daisy by Paige Toon
⭐️: 3.75/5 🌶️: 2/5

Daisy, a caterer, falls for an F1 driver who’s already spoken for. Took me a while to connect to any of the characters, tbh. Enjoyable but felt longer than needed. Predictable, but still a good story of love vs. infatuation.

Book 14/150: Emily Eternal by M.G. Wheaton
⭐️: 3.75/5

When the world is ending, Emily, an Artificial Consciousness, may be mankind’s only hope. This book looks at what it really means to be human and the ethics of dependence on technology. Sci-fi reading without being overly technical.

Book 13/150: Bloodstream (Revolution Racing Book 1) by Emilee Carter
⭐️3.75/5 🌶️: 3/5

Good balance of F1 and romance, this follows the story of a social media manager who falls for a driver. This skips “will they?” and heads straight to “WHEN will they?” Predictable, but still sweet.

Book 12/150: The Keeper of Lost Art by Laura Morelli
⭐️ 4.75/5

This one hits different given the political climate. The inspiring story of an orphan and a Tuscan family tasked with protecting art during WW2. A tale of friendship, community, and beauty. In darkness, there is still hope.

Book 11/150: Broadway Butterfly by Sara DiVello
⭐️: 5/5

I love a good thriller. This retells the true story of the 1920s murder of Dot King through the eyes of her maid, a detective, a betrayed wife, and a female reporter. Heartbreaking and captivating, an absolute treasure.

Book 10/150: A Rookie Romance by M.B. Feeney
⭐️: 3/5 🌶️: 5/5

Rookie driver falls for a girl running an IG fan account. A quick, lighthearted read if you’re a fan of smut and #F1. Reads like a fanfic, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing!

Book 9/150: Steampunk! By various authors
⭐️: 3:75/5

A collection of steampunk short stories by a myriad of well-known YA authors (Libba Bray, Holly Black, Cory Doctorow, etc.) that run the gamut from ghost stories to romance. Some are hit or miss, but great variety overall.

Book 8/150: Bookshops & Bonedust by Travis Baldree
⭐️: 5/5

This prequel to Legends &
Lattes is right up my alley. Don’t let the “cozy” label throw you— there are times our heroes are in mortal danger. Fell in love with the foul-mouthed ratkin bookseller. Sweet ending. Loved this one!

Book 7/150: Funny Story by Emily Henry

All the quirkiness and sweetness you can expect from an Emily Henry book. Characters are fun and relatable, even if the circumstances are extraordinary. A perfect easy, romantic read.

Book 6/150: The Traitor’s Ruin by Erin Beaty
⭐️: 3/5

Kind of a disappointing sequel. The characters I loved in the first book were just insufferable in this one and most of the plot moved forward due to sheer luck or coincidence. Good world building though, plus a happy ending.

⭐️: 3.5/5 🌶️: 2/5

This sequel focuses on Mia’s twin brother, Jordan, who goes through a complete personality change from the first book. Sweet and spicy, but far less focus on racing, which was disappointing.
