Saving Grace

Kinetic visual novel following Klein, a poet who acts as the Eyes of God. It befriends a vulgar warrior, and settles in for a night at one of the last remaining taverns.

It drinks. And drinks. And it doesn't wake up.

Legend of Blue Eyes feels like they just took the broad sketch of a card game directly from the Kaiba arc of the original Yu-Gi-Oh manga and printed it mostly unchanged. The game barely has mechanics.

MTG Alpha on the other hand already feels like a pretty well thought out game, with a lot of intentionality to both the gameplay rhythm and how flavor is integrated. It's varied, intricate, and charming, and simple enough at its core to pick up quickly.

I'm also getting a real sense of what was lost as the game picked up steam. Did you know the original rules include a line discouraging you from just purchasing whatever particular spell you want for your deck?
