South East England. Into genre evolution, H.G. Wells to H.G. Lewis, Hammer to Chainsaw. Giallo and Euro horror are my happy place. Incurable nostalgia junkie. 🇬🇧🏳️‍🌈
I think so. It won't blow you away but it's a solid B Movie with an interesting approach.

The poster's a classic, isn't it. I've always loved this one but I get your point, and at least it grew on you!

Joan Collins versus Psycho Santa, absolutely priceless! 🖤

Good to know, I'll enter prepared...
December 22, 2025 at 10:16 PM
Me too, since first seeing it on late night UK TV when I was a teen. I loved it then and been defending it ever since! 🐸

I've loved this one since I was a teenager, and that's a very long time! The title doesn't do it justice, the entire swamp and bug life around it are out to get you...

Intriguing, but I'm guessing sadly unlikely! Definitely a bit of artistic license going on here, but it does the trick nicely...
December 22, 2025 at 5:38 PM
You just have to love that tagline, don't you. They really don't make them like that anymore...🐸😱
December 22, 2025 at 5:23 PM
Excellent, I'm always up for some entertaining trash and while I'm a physical media chap, any new way to watch this stuff is welcome!
December 22, 2025 at 5:21 PM
No apology needed my friend, great story! And you've given it the tenuous Christmas link I was sadly lacking!
December 22, 2025 at 5:17 PM
Well if Mr. Dafoe says it's creepy it must be seriously creepy! 🐸😱
December 22, 2025 at 4:35 PM
That's as random a place to stumble across a Japanese masterpiece as any! It's a stunner, isn't it.
December 22, 2025 at 4:33 PM
Excellent, thanks for the heads up. I've not heard of this and it looks rather intriguing, and it's been a while since I've seen Sam Elliott's moustache act in something new.
December 22, 2025 at 4:32 PM
😂 Now that makes sense, and I'll never look at Lt. Dick Chasen the same again! 😆
December 22, 2025 at 4:27 PM
Ok, I don't think the TV show made it over here, or perhaps I just missed it...
December 22, 2025 at 4:25 PM
Ah! I remembered the thought behind the acronym but couldn't recall the exact words. I shall have them tattooed somewhere prolific for future reference.
December 22, 2025 at 4:24 PM
Great point, the servants really didn't deserve it! I first saw this on late night UK TV, hadn't seen the poster so I had no expectations. It's trashy, but I've loved it ever since.
December 22, 2025 at 3:50 PM
Indeed, there's comfort in watching the grouchy old Milland get wasted by swamplife...
December 22, 2025 at 3:49 PM
It was a late night UK TV find for me when I was a kid, loved it ever since...
December 22, 2025 at 3:47 PM
Same here, I found it on late night UK TV when I was young, with no expectations and loved it. And as for the lovely Sam Elliott's 'tache? I've always thought the frogs got it... 🐸😁
December 22, 2025 at 3:46 PM
Indeed, I think the noir elements help lift it out of the norm. Not quite sure what you mean about the Lieutenant though...
December 22, 2025 at 2:37 PM
It could be, but its been a while since the last ARFUR conversation and never underestimate the power of a failing memory... 🤔
December 22, 2025 at 12:23 PM
In fairness the poster probably cost more than the film to produce, but if you like B Movies it's great fun.
December 22, 2025 at 12:18 PM
Kind of. Thematically there are obvious similarities but the style is very different. And this looks cheaper...
