Someone who lives here. Cycling for transport shouldn’t feel like an act of activism. She/her
Quickest weekday dinner recipe. Did you know silken tofu makes an amazingly creamy herb “yogurt” base for spiced and roasted chickpeas & vegetables? A cupboard staple I can’t go without! 🌱🌱

So you’re saying the yellow markings mean DON‘T park in front of the fire station?

Several Refugee Nation flags were flown during Sunday's Unity March in Oxford, which sparked a lot of curiosity. This flag was designed by Syrian artist Yara Said for the refugee athletes who competed in the 2016 Olympics. The design is inspired by a life vest. For More: www.therefugeenation.com

Ok so “transphobe” and “misogynist” are now “harmful language” and community standards trigger words for comments on Instagram

And how do you get filthy rich? By destroying our planet and extracting money from vulnerable people. The proportion of billionaires who got rich from oil and gas or gambling has been steadily growing. Why do we let them??

Child poverty has not improved in 30 years and shockingly remains stable ~30%. While UK billionaires accumulate a more and more wealth. Is this the "abundance" they talk of? (Sources in ALT text).

Labour aren’t even pretending any more. Here’s a handy list of Oxfordshire County votes for a motion brought by the Conservative Alliance published on the Reform councillor’s FB page. Labour voting with Tories, the nutters from the IOA (their chair is an anti-vaxxer and Covid denier) and Reform. 🤷‍♀️

This is not the first time Oxford Labour have lied on a leaflet about buses and Oxford Greens. In April they claimed the Green Party was to blame for buses not being in public control, when at the time, there was no such legislation from central government...

Don't tell us about "trust". Here we have Cllr Baines' picture on a leaflet that tells outright lies. Oxford Greens proposed in fact an amendment to include _additional_ disadvantaged groups into the bus motion proposed by Labour.

Followers of the series won't be surprised when I tell you: This land is actually owned by all of us and should not be given away to storing cars, at all.

'personally I do all my shopping at the big super store outside the ring road, this is why I can with expertise speak to the fact that we need to support independent businesses in our city, by making a point for protecting parking at the superstore at the edge of the city.'

Right wingers losing their shit over the fact that the Green Party has a Jewish leader and a Muslim deputy leader, assuming they should really be at their throats.

68-78 Hollow Way. The highway extends all the way to the buildings. This is public land that is owned by all of us.
October 23, 2025 at 8:31 AM
Another example in this increasingly popular series:
Rose Hill shops. All the pavement up to the buildings is public highway, yet it is built and therefore used as if it can be used for parking. We need better design for the public realm.

Not sure it is, unless I am reading the map right. The white van and the blue car are parked like this. The 2 white cars in the background look to be parked on land belonging to the property.
