🌟 In 1987, #MarleeMatlin made history. In her first-ever film role, she won the Oscar for "Children of a Lesser God," making her the first Deaf actor to take home the award.
This was a groundbreaking win that gave Deaf stories visibility and proved talent knows no barriers. #Hollywood

On August 18, 1920, after decades of struggle, the United States ratified the #19thAmendment, granting women the right to vote. Tennessee cast the decisive vote when young legislator Harry Burn, urged by his mother to “be a good boy,” changed his vote in favor of the amendment. #History
