We’ll likely still get our isolation moments with Samus throughout Beyond, but I don’t mind exploring more within the galactic federation. Make the world feel bigger.

Metroid’s connection to Ridley Scott’s Alien is usually thrown around with the comparison of isolation and fear. I’d argue that mostly classic/Sakamoto-helmed Metroid titles evoke that whereas the Prime series has leaned more into James Cameron’s Aliens, which isn’t a bad thing at all.

Once Carrie passed away, I knew that would complicate things w/ him and Derek writing. I don’t envy anyone trying to crack that code w/ IX. Colin has been pretty humble about outing and just getting a chance to tell a story to George and Kathy that ultimately didn’t make the cut.

Would have liked to see him direct a non-trilogy Star War.
