Oh, a few more photos I took on the flight deck while on deployment as well.

Apple's week November 15: Danger Zone
A new Apple Immersive Video takes us to the flight deck of the USS Nimitz, Apple is done with MLS, and Jeff Williams leaves Apple Park for the last time.

These "Apple employee leaves Apple" stories are odd. I don't remember them being a thing until the past year.

We know nothing about what the person was doing, if this was planned in advance, who replaced them, or if the team is hobbled by the move. Just a tipster with an axe to grind.

As a fan of Kingdom Hearts since I saw that first insane ad on Disney Channel, this is an excellent show. Even if you're a casual fan or interested in getting into the series, these guys do a great job demystifying the cannon.

Full spoilers right off btw.

Apple TV's Extrapolations had an entire B story about a man who had to delete his literal memories because he ran out of iCloud storage. This is on that level of fucked.
Nightmarish idea for a startup tbh

Hey look, I took that photo! We talk about watching jets taking off in Vision Pro and real life, plus discuss the privacy implications of smart glasses with cameras.

Oh, and I edited this one too. Hope it's a good one.

Just randomly thinking about how @zcichy.bsky.social used to do an incredibly interesting podcast and was the one that introduced me to Ken Wilber and Integral Theory. Real mind bending stuff, especially when applied to what we see today, especially AI.

Tesla adding CarPlay after years of playing the superiority game is the surest sign that their vehicles have hit rock bottom. And the average demo buying iPhones are definitely not the ones buying Tesla (today).

I keep talking about the line between bare minimum capitulation (Apple) and full on subservience (Google, Meta) and this is a great example. It's all gross, Apple removing apps without any pushback, but Google actively hosting this even though it clearly endangers people, now that's just evil.

You all thought the "Apple is behind in AI" reports were incessant and stupid? Just wait on the "Apple is behind in robotics" reports that'll start any day now.

This is really cool, and I know how such a thing would be coordinated on a carrier and it would have been a big deal for the crew. Can't wait to check it out. I've been topside and watched jets being launched, so I wonder how this experience compares.

Literally the mentality bestowed upon us thanks to things like Affirm. I've met people in the last couple of years that buy almost everything over $100 on Affirm with the longest possible payment plan.

There's several levels of dumb here. First, there is a chance Apple never intended to release an iPhone Air in 2026. Second, most evidence points to iPhone Air being quite popular, especially in China. Third, the report itself is quite contradictory.

So why are so many quick to just repeat as fact?

Saw a bunch of posts wondering how the App Store logo works (is it just sticks??), so I made a little 3D printed visualization of the 3 tilted app icons that come together to make it, it's really quite clever!

Makes for a fun desk ornament too ☺️
