Carney has already retracted his comment as a misstatement. Perhaps when PP makes his next misstatement (as he frequently does) he won't be smiling at much. This is all about "gotcha politics".

To a conservative he's a liberal. To a liberal he's moderate. It all depends on your stance. Labels are just that. Policy umbrellas.

Using US political parties as a comparison to another countries parties is over simplification. It doesn't take into account history, ethos, or political structure. Most of the world's conservative parties would be considered moderate in the States. The US 2-party system is much more diametric.

The CPC needs to rethink their leadership profile. If the CPC continues to be MAGA in Canada they'll alienate even more voters especially seeing how things are going in the US. Canada needs an intelligent free standing opposition party who actually has actionable policies not just Trump sound bites.
