The president and vice president shouldn't be upset about having missed the service. The service was not political, and they weren't in any way mentioned, as it was not about them in any way. It was about duty and honor and integrity and decency and love, … (1/3)

We need a new word, definition: irony on steroids + coccaine
I wish I didn’t have to share this. But the BBC has decided to censor my first Reith Lecture.

They deleted the line in which I describe Donald Trump as “the most openly corrupt president in American history.” /1

Vince Gilligan: always assume your audience is smarter than you.

Politicians: always assume voters a pig shit thick.

Neither seems to be wrong.

Interesting Venn Diagrams to be drawn.

Still reeling from the Stanford report on Brexit. Reduced GDP by up to 8% and investment by as much as 18%. The UK Treasury would have £40 billion more each year if Britain had remained in the EU. Devastating self-immolation.

I love it that sane, logical people are completely bamboozled by the fact of cryptocurrency.

It outrages every cell of their (our) being. But the simple answer is: stupid people, and criminals have money.

Let them get on with it.

Labour really doesn’t get, er, labour. Putting up wages of people who need people to help them do a job, people who are now also more expensive (because differentials, employer tax rises) decreases opportunities for young people.

You don’t have to be Einstein, to put the pieces together, do you?

British Press, nothing to see here…
“Did Nathan Gill ever say anything you disagree with in return for his bribes from a Kremlin stooge?”

“Did you, in your roles as his boss, friend, mentor & party leader, ever question his full-throated support for an enemy of the UK and if not, why not?”

You can have those for nothing, lads.

In my case, fewer employees. Lower pay for myself = lower tax receipts.
This data is provisional and will undoubtedly be revised. But the issues they highlight – stubbornly high borrowing, pressures on spending, uncertain tax revenues – will feature at next week’s Budget.

Someone who knows Sondheim.
The “Wicked” director Jon M. Chu knows that the film’s sequel is a major shift in tone. But the plan was always for audiences to “absorb the fairy tale so it could shatter in front of us."

Why the Sequel to Last Year’s Brightest Film Took a Dark Turn
