After jostling a few things around and cleaning up a LOT of gecko poop, the NUC is now in the rack and powered on. Able to SSH in without issue, and working on getting AdGuard Home set up!

Now a replacement connector has arrived, and once I have some time I’ll desolder the temp fix and replace it with the all-new connector, and then put the drive back into regular use!

Winter 2023 I fixed a busted SSD connector; the supporting plastic tab had been busted off. It took some pliers and soldering, but it worked as a temp fix to get the data off with a piece of cardboard wedged under the pins where the supporting plastic should have been.

Woo new fridge. Old one was rusting out on the freezer door and was likely causing us energy bill issues.
Dang if the LED lighting on the new one isn’t blinding in the middle of the night.

Also, we as a state are relatively fine. This eruption happens in a remote area, and the worst effects of it are volcanic ash and air particulate from the eruption (called "vog") spreading across the state.
