Something I’ve noticed and that @johannawinant.bsky.social gets absolutely right: teaching students to focus long enough to build (on) an idea is a gift. It’s no longer standard, at least not in K-12. It requires safety and stamina, both of which are in danger in classrooms across the world.

“My students showed me how simple and how hard it can be to notice…I never asked them to respond to a prompt. They had to build arguments from the ground up; there was no right answer, only stronger and weaker ones.”

I don’t like his voice and I don’t think he’s suited to the roles he’s been cast in. It’s objectively not a great voice and if he was less famous, I don’t think he’d be cast.

My hatred for LMM as Hamilton is strong. When they released the Disney version with “it’s quiet uptown” sounding like that—I have been livid since.

He cannot sing.

I understand wanting to be a musical guy but it’s so bad 😭

I have a pretty strict “no talking to strangers, especially when they’re mid-conversation at a giant national conference” rule, but my friends pointed out that it was the only time I “fan-girled,” so I had to! Thanks for all you do. 🙏🏾

I LOVE R&J for freshmen! Who better to read about bad life choices that have life-long consequences than a bunch of 15 year olds?! The relationship drama, family drama, and friendship drama is peak 9th grade. The endless adaptations and the position in collective culture also helps.
