hey @laurenedwardsmp.bsky.social if you sponsor @onlycans.bsky.social's marathon, you'll also be helping out @deeboom.bsky.social and @sapphicalui.bsky.social, and then we'll know you're not just virtue signaling for the most anti-queer government since Thatcher hon 🩷

i saw somebody promo-ing this earlier saying it's a good thing she's on pills now instead of patches/gel and i just wanted to screeeaaam.

a good sign-off can be written fairly open-ended to address multiple types of surgery but most psychs will want you on 2+ years medically transitioning before they'll even think about it.

y'know, RLE under a different name.

so that's *still* multiple thousands of pounds using this model.

if im being real charitable, anne-dot-health could be seen as a worthwhile investment if you wanted to avoid the GIC queue for a diagnosis and surgery sign-off.

but that would also involve having to speed-run the whole process much faster than they will probably allow you to.

it's a bit apples and oranges doing a direct comparison because we don't really get insurance over here (and it wouldn't cover stuff we want anyway), so surgery should be kept out of it.

but even with comparisons to other HRT routes this is bananas expensive.

it _feels_ like reinventing GenderGP from first principles, and i already had a lot of issues with GenderGP
November 20, 2025 at 7:00 PM
i don't know if it's changed (this was ~4-5 years ago now), but the route i went through GenderCare ended up with a shared care agreement with my GP, which meant prescriptions were waaay more affordable.

"support from gender-affirming clinicians", blood tests, limited counselling/therapy sessions, "life admin support"

jfc £150 is more than i recently paid for 2+ years worth of injections
November 20, 2025 at 6:16 PM
GenderCare was cheaper than this btw

November 20, 2025 at 6:08 PM

Lauren can you offer material support rather than meaningless platitudes?

Contributing to my friends crowdfunders would be a good start, as i’m pretty sure you wouldn’t stomach my other suggestions.
