The media does not in fact report on Republicans in any factual way. It's always sanewashing and bothsidesism, as if the media were, I don't know, on their side. And liberals struggle to get a word in.

I thought the reason to obscure the plate was to fool the cameras. Police can still read them. But yes, pretty much like that. Although others make a good point tgat statistically it'll still reduce injuries.

That's actually proposed by Terry Jones in one of his fairytales, about how much fun it was to take rides on a dragon even though you occasionally had to feed him people.

Good point. Although I said nothing about giving up. I'm just frustrated with people I actually know who will definitely break the limiter because that's just how they roll.

You would immediately be able to buy a speed limiter hacking kit on the black market and all the worst people would have them disabled. We've seen this before with every other technological solution to a societal problem, from covid vaccination cards to plane transponders.

It literally is law. The two party system is codified in the 12th amendment (50% of the vote requirement allows for only two parties). Normal democracies have numerous parties and build coalitions. America has a unique zero sum game with two parties thanks to the idiotic winner take all system.

You can't assume people to your left have the same goals. At some point "we want better policies" turns into "revolution is the only way", and they hate liberals more than fascists. Their vote is as unreachable as MAGA and the candidates shouldn't try to win them. Inspire normies to vote instead.

It's a rational argument but your opposition isn't rational. Deal with the opposition you have not the one you wish you had. They're loud and they get a huge media assist. They weaponize legit issues but the goal is to defeat liberals, not fascists. You'll never meet their pretextual demands.

Haven't we learned by now that all mainstream media lean conservative and help Republicans with sanewashing and bothsidesism? How many conservative voter hagiographies does it take to hammer the point that those are the only "real Americans"? Not sure what to regret here. Hope the NYT is next.

I truly believe that for everything horrible Trump has done Bush is still the worst. Bush singlehandedly destroyed the world. Trump is rolling back progress by about 60 years and that's horrible but Bush is the reason half the world is on fire.

Trump would be nowhere without an absolute unimaginably massive media assist. They love him and help him. They play a game where he calls them "enemy" and "fake news" and they give him nice publicity, all the while shutting liberals out.
