On here for the politics, news and information. Lovely to find a social place where I see the people I follow! Would really like the UK to rejoin the EU and to reverse all the years of damage by our own governments.

There was, of course, absolutely nothing to stop these Tories resigning when their own Party was literally in the middle of doing all the things they now claim to be so unhappy about.

Exactly right, but happening far too late.

Was obvious a year ago that this was the direction of travel (even if the exact route was unclear).

EU, UK, Canada should have drawn red lines far earlier. Trump saw our delay as weakness, not friendship. More of the same will just embolden him.
Feels like something cracked today in the transatlantic alliance. Europeans have been swallowing their pride, bitting their tongues, and bending the knee. That strategy may have bought them time but it has now clearly failed. It also had a major cost - it has made the WH think Europe will cave. 1/

The decent Tories were culled in 2019.
The indecent ones are defecting to Farage.
I wonder who or what will be left by 2029.

I prosecute and defend the most serious sexual offences in our courts.

The overwhelming majority of offenders are British-born. Overwhelmingly the victim is someone known to them, either a partner or relative.

Anybody purporting to care about protecting women might start there.

And expect that number to shrink further.

No matter how much the government, major parties, or tabloid press push “Brexit benefits…”

People know Brexit doesn’t.

Brexit leaves the UK in a structurally weaker position, bleeding money, time, efficiency and opportunity daily.

This is quite enormous when you think about it. How many people have actually thought about it what this means for the legitimacy of the referendum?

It doesn’t undo Brexit.

But it is a compelling argument for starting to do so.

- paid their shareholders £78bn

- paid their managers high salaries

- demanded more taxpayers money

- poured sh*t into our rivers
