this here School Crossing signage on the walking route to RMHS was not enough of a reminder/notice for the driver of a Very Large SUV to look for pedestrians before making a right turn on green across this pedestrian’s path

early observation: 3 out of 4 drivers passing me are on their phones
View of Rockville Pike /Md 355 facing north towards downtown Rockville. This 6-8 lane divided highway runs through a high foot traffic area, as the 355 / Rockville Pike corridor is lined with residential neighborhoods and shopping centers, lots of bus stops, and Metro stations. The speed limit here, with sign visible in photo, is 35 mph; slows to 30 mph on the next (oversized) block.

sometimes it’s hard being a dog/cat. Kitten George here is also not a fan of the vacuum and retreats to one of his forts (under the bed!) for safety. good luck, Sophie 😊

Capitol Corridor service by Amtrak, but one of those state-funded partnerships, so it’s California DOT 🚆

There’s an orange accent stripe at the door and Mount Shasta is printed in white (each train car has a California place name). when I tapped in at the Santa Clara platform, my Clipper card (app) was charged $10.20 ^^ for what I was sure was a $3.45 fare, but I did not panic (but did triple-check the fare info). Sure enough when I tapped out at San Jose Diridon, the difference was refunded to card, so only charged $3.45

A ramp up to train platform from a below ground passageway at Santa Clara Transit Center. A sign on the wall points to trains to San Francisco (up this ramp to the left), trains to San Jose/Gilroy (next platform). Transit center is served by ACE train, Capitol Corridor, and Caltrain, and VTA bus.
