Congrats to Montréal where the next phase of their REM metro system opened today! Work started in 2017. Now 50-km of new transit is open for riders! 🎊
Meanwhile, a certain 19-km LRT in Toronto has been under construction since 2011 and there's no opening date in sight... 😤

line 6 finch west begins revenue service demonstration this saturday, the final stretch to opening. this process takes 30 days, meaning you can expect to ride the LRT in the 4th-5th week of october (barring any issues).
so, line 6 is now officially ahead of line 5 to open. made that bet in 2022 🙃

Back to RapidTO. Councillor Pasternak says he'll vote against the transit lanes for Bathurst & Dufferin. He says he would prefer an expansion of the subway network. "These lanes will end up causing gridlock, air pollution, taking away parking — it is not something that will go well."
