Muppet Queen, Recovering Lawyer
(It’s an honorary title the Order Muppets came up with. The Chaos Muppets would never tolerate a real monarchy. So we compromised on an anarcho-syndicalist federation with a symbolic head of state for the fancy parties etc.)

Though note, many (all the ones I happen to know anything relevant about) of those countries are in the process of making it harder to immigrate there.

Happy to see it (and listing Sarah McBride at the top seems a good move).
This is def not the point but mildly surprised I haven’t yet seen any coverage mention “213 House Democrats” means all of them except Henry Cuellar.

Well it means you have good taste but yeah … keep going for runs and walks, reading poetry and literature, seeing friends and not talking shop … and if none of that helps, listen to some *Tim* Buckley, that’ll cheer you *right* up.

In a world that criminalizes survival, grief is a political act. It pushes us to ask hard questions:

Why are sex workers still dying at disproportionate rates? Why are Black, Brown, Indigenous, and trans women most targeted?

Why do we keep funding raids instead of resources?

Agree that it’s not simple for sure. Nothing is now. New strategies are needed and will take years to build traction.

This has been left on the table for a lot of years now when it could have traction in some states by now. Nothing starts until it’s started. Sport and facility bans rely on BCs to even pretend to be workable. Removing sex from BC forms in several states might help shift the terms of debate.

I def agree this is true for passports, but disagree that it’s true for ID across the board, and would strongly disagree re: birth certificates. Short-term moves vary by context, but it’s a mistake to have no long-term strategy in this direction after AMA handed us a starting point on BCs in 2021.

Also I love these threads but also they give me weird data-scraping feels?

Definitely came out before then but I discovered this record at 16 and it made a huge impact one me. Met him once, helluva bloke. Friend got him out to play a picket line once. Last I saw him he offered his age-peers a pep talk on supporting trans rights.

Look if you're trans, you have to live. Do whatever you need to do to make it.

I’ll take it, I can’t get excited. This case is what the lawyers call a “bad vehicle.” US marriage equality isn’t safe, and this is a far less significant move by SCOTUS than allowing the passport policy to go back into effect days ago. Live to fight another day, but not a lick of credit to SCOTUS.
