Too many people have fell for “socialism is bad”.

We need to repeat “socialism is roads”, “socialism is public schools”, “socialism is ambulances and firefighters”

My mother's cousin, who was much older than her, was my "Uncle Fred." White, WASP family, so I guess that's ok then, eh?

Here is the video or Ronald Reagan saying church and state must remain separate.

Privatizing the military. What could possibly go wrong.

It's appalling. But it's not destroying the symmetry of the building, unless the new ballroom is way out of proportion to the parallel West Wing. TIL both are separate buildings from what we picture as the White House, accessed through colonnades.

No, it's not part of the main building as you are picturing. Not saying I in any way approve. But everyone seems to think that half of the White House is now gone.

There's a picture in this BBC article -

Trump says 'existing structure' of White House East Wing to be torn down
The US president previously said that his $250m (£186m) ballroom addition would not "interfere with the current building".

You destroy the West Wing! (Just kidding, but that's where his staff work.)

You do know that this is not the right-hand side of the White House that we see in pictures? It is a building separate from that, reached through a colonnade. It's not okay that he did this, but it's not what many think.

You do realize that it's not the right-hand side of the White House that we see in photos?

This BBC article shows the location of the East Wing.

It's not ok, but it's also not "half demolished". See the overview photo in this article from BBC (US sources are just showing gory closeups). It's not the right side of the main building, it's an outbuilding, basically. Again, not ok, but not as dire as you describe.

Thank you!

Can someone tell me who was the amazing pastor who spoke just before Senator Murphy?

Bobby, when your uncle was president, families could live on 1 paycheck, have 2 cars, & go on vacation every yr. When I raised my family, it took 2 incomes to maintain that same lifestyle. Now it's 2 incomes just to make ends meet. Perhaps income inequality & a burning planet has something to do it.
