Always been a lover not a hater and these are decent. Unfortunately though they taste slightly stale even when fresh.

A few weeks ago we visited The Botanist Bar & Restaurant on the roof of Bobby's in what could end up having been my final out trip of the flat. Couldn't eat there but did have some 'normal' lunch back down in the square which was fine. The Botanist itself though was lovely, so pretty and relaxing 😍

Responses that although used with the best intentions should never be asked to those with a high stage of a specific cancer:
"Oh I had an *insert distant friend or family member* who passed away from that exact type!"
For some reason this happens ALL. THE. TIME..

1) Rough workday. I'm just gonna relax at home with a game
2) I feel that, nice to get away from the work noise & hassle
1) DUDE WTF DO YOU HEAR THAT?! I think I'm going nuts
2) What do you mean? You've just unlocked a car horn is all
1) I guess I must just find it hard to disconnect. My bad man

Just received a difficult phone call with final goodbyes from my oncologist as all treatment has completely stopped. Tried keeping things light, not easy as she’s been looking after me since early 2021 and we had a great rapport. Feels terrible to just let the cancer win.
Very little time left now.

This was so nearly the closest match to 2025's photo date back in 2015. I'd have much preferred this one to have cinched it - especially as I'm still doing this regularly to keep myself entertained 🫢

A lovely old man treat from the NHS as I can barely get up off the toilet anymore. Not a fan - especially as the combo of a low toilet and a 6ft2" tall dude with long arms using this tall device seems illogical, but they disagree.
I can confirm this is indeed not a particularly logical combination.

That the big popular American podcast ended up being that brainless meathead Joe Rogan over the neurotic AF Marc Maron is such a shame. The amount of fourteen year old weed addled confused teenager takes and vibes he gives off has rubbed off on so many easily influenced kids (and adults) out there.

That deep sinking feeling when you realise this is probably one of the last times you will be able to (slowly, painfully and barely successfully) dress yourself without any assistance.

When your liver is almost entirely consumed by a tumour your skin turns yellow, particularly the head area. Your eyes turn an even darker yellow too, leaving you looking like that weird little thing from Sin City. Doesn't make you act like him, although I do - but I've always been that way.

Noticed I had to take a forth link off my watch in a very short period of time. Checked my weight and I've dropped from fifteen stone to eleven. Urgh.
Don't piss around with ozempic and the like to slim down - just get cancer instead. Easy!

This is where I'm going to die. Before visiting today I no idea that since Brexit/Covid so much funding had been pulled from places like this, probably so it could be funnelled into the Tories mates ripoff PPE funds etc at the time or to get Boris a new garage of cars. Garden is still nice at least.

My time is almost up (and I can REALLY feel it) so tomorrow we're going to see the Macmillan hospice where I will likely be staying when I die. Not really a visit I'm looking forward to but who knows, it might be a right laugh.

Ghost Town is a cute wee film that is better than you expect, definitely a good one for date night. Ricky Gervais isn’t so annoying in it and the rest of the cast is good, it looks nice and for a rom com has *some* unexpected depth. I’ll never tire of lush cinematic rainy New York vistas either. 3/5

Took a lot of effort and work but managed to get out to have a lovely ice cream and to the pier to relax. Then my hearing stopped working in my right ear which is very uncomfortable and disorienting, then my legs gave way - I fell over hard and really struggled to make it home. Fucking FUCK cancer.

Because you fluctuate in weight so much on heavy cancer treatment (thanks to steroid intake trying to bloat you while the disease fights back trying to make you skeletal) it means Face ID regularly ends up needing recalibrating. Probably not the worst thing about slowly dying.. but mildly irritating

Watched a film called Chef. It was quite good really, didn't go in expecting much - John Favreau casts himself in a role where Gloria from Modern Family is his ex wife and Scarlett Johansson lusts after him. Overall I'd recommend it, uplifting fun and a chill watch with a great soundtrack. Solid 4/5
