In 2026 why don’t we stop asking clearly disinterested actors during press junkets what they think about memes, please ❤️

Extremely random music question: has anyone heard and can place a cover of REM's The Great Beyond sung by a children's choir? Probably from a film? I have been googling to no avail but distinctly remember hearing this somewhere

Got a 'big fan of your entire outfit' from the cute guy in the coffee shop just now that is all the more meaningful because the fit is 'post swim air drying hair, challengers sweatshirt and coat that always looks ratty no matter how much I repair and clean it'

One of Britain’s most iconic and beloved directors on her striking new film, Die My Love, and why she is drawn to extreme material.

BFI saying they accredited 860 press for LFF. If you conservatively estimate just 660 of them paid the £50 fee - likely more but I'm allowing for 200 comps - that's 33k coming in just from press accreditation. And they don't even have a press room lmao

Thrilled to write even more about BUGONIA, this time over at @lwlies.com where I look at the film as a synthesis of the various strains of Stanley Kubrick running through the work of Yorgos Lanthimos. (Many thnaks to @daveyjenkins.bsky.social for helping focus the idea!) lwlies.com/this-just-in...
Yorgos Lanthimos, Bugonia, and the Long Shadow of Stanley Kubrick

Idk if it's down to the Barbie movie or Wicked or whatever but I am very much over the 'adult girlhood' phenomenom...you are not just a girl you have taxes and obligations...you can have whimsy in your life without infantalising yourself

Modern film marketing is so cooked bc you can be Lynne Ramsay and make a film as beautiful as Die My Love and it gets promoted with scented candles and Katniss/Edward Cullen memes made "in partnership" with random IG accounts
