Beautiful Bannockburn, Stirling.
Nine years ago was one of the best days ever, and both the continuation and beginning of a fantastic adventure ❤️

So grateful to have farmland and nature so close to our home in #Bannockburn.

A 5k walk before bedtime with the kids, with no real complaints from any of us, in the sunshine. A rare treat indeed!

Highly recommend this book by @dfdubz.bsky.social

My goodness, it is a breath of fresh air in today's climate of polarisation, tweets & cancel culture

Almost made me want to go & talk to the guy in the Reform UK tshirt today... maybe next time

@camerados-org.bsky.social - think you'll like this

Growing together ❤️

I've been finding some absolute gems in Toryglen over the last couple of months.

On Monday I visited the #ESOL class in the Cornerstone Hall and found out about what folks love about Toryglen, & what their gifts & skills are.

The Easter holidays were intense! Chicken pox, visiting what has felt like the ENTIRE of England... it feels like the important thing with the kids' holidays is to humbly point out the smug moments. You know, the times when everything feels lovely.

Being handed this was just one of those.

Next book to keep me company on my commute. A work related one this time... although everything is related to this line of work really, isn't it?

From the beaten down & stuck woman accused of not being able to cope with change; to a completely new & nurturing environment, coping with most of what life is throwing at her ✊️

Recognising the privilege I have to be able to walk away from barren land, & the things that were consuming me.

How is this a thing?! AI replacing the village it takes to raise a child?? No, no, no. Humans can do better than this. We have to do better than this.

Got my fresh air today around the @uofglasgow.bsky.social. I challenge you to find a more beautiful uni building (we won't talk about the Boyd Orr building...)

The nostalgia of walking from town, along Sauchiehall St (including The Garage!) & thru Kelvingrove. Can't beat it.

Haylis Smith from Suicide Prevention Scotland presenting now.

I'm looking forward to learning more about the function of community in this.

Off to the Scottish Community Development Centre event at @uofglasgow.bsky.social to explore community led health in action.

Time to write up some stuff in my sweary note book before hiding it in my bag again 🤣

Visited Fallin Community Garden today. WOW. The community has made a huge difference to what was forgotten wasteland in the village. I am super excited to see what happens next.

Shout out to my pal Iain, @strathcarron.bsky.social community builder! He's walked alongside this community beautifully.

The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice is a beautiful, homely place.

Had the pleasure of a wee tour & chat about the services available to people in the southside.

Excited to be waving the #CompassionateCommunities flag in Glasgow now.

Went to see "The Wedding Singer" performed by #Alloa
Musical Players, on Friday with my mammy. What a brilliant show! Town Hall was sold out & had an amazing atmosphere.

Will be back next year for sure!

Feedback form about the new proposed school reports.

Does anyone think it's appropriate to summarise a child's experiences at schools into emojis, with no further description?!

It's pretty 💩

My current companion is Sharon Blackie.

Finding this one takes a little more concentration to listen to as there's so much to think about, & at the moment, just a few hours in, a slight feeling of doom hanging in the air. But it feels important to keep listening.

It's easier to be kind to myself & make decisions when I think of it as looking after this wee girl 👇 (who my daughter is the spitting image of, btw!)

We're finally feeling ourself again. Breaking thru the fatigue that comes after holding pieces together for too long.

Bring on the next adventure!

Not what I expected to be listening to today! I've added all recommendations to my list & I'm nearly finished this one after a house sorting marathon (even though Jesus doesn't mind 🤣).

I do love Dana K White, she writes & reads in a way that my brain really appreciates.

This week wee 1 had preschool jags. The nurse doubted her egg allergy. "Does she eat cakes? What about pancakes?"

Couldnt have vomited both times after flu vax: "Coincidence"

3 yrs ago her face & body looked like this. It's all real.

Medics need to listen to parents.

Leaving do tonight & the last day of the notice period that I didn't work.

Very emotional walking away from colleagues (& past colleagues) tonight. Now friends. All strong, amazing folk who I love & have learnt so much from.

& then there's this. "Because you're the missing part of the team"
