Me too! I've ordered a baby sling, because I have a feeling it's going to be very needed with this baby. 😍

So TINY and so SNUGGLY. She's back in my sweater, sleeping, because she gets straight up distressed when she's separated from the household.

She’s already making friends with Scarlett, our cocker spaniel!! And this is after sleeping inside my sweater for a couple of hours. Harlow has also been introduced to the marvels of Churu snacks 😂

They do come with some alt text, but a lot of it is just terri-bad. The auto alt text for my GIF said, "a man in a blue dress dances around the room."

It was awesome, lol

2/ This was preceded by burgers made with hand-formed patties. I didn’t have Worcestershire sauce, but I did have a black garlic sauce that subbed in quite well. I might have a new go-to recipe for burger patties.

I’ve purchased few of these, and there are some B5, dot grid spiral notebooks on Amazon that I love as well for using with my fountain pens. I went on a whole journey of experimenting with different notebooks/papers because I take lots of notes.

Walmart's Pen+Gear notebooks are excellent for fountain pens, at least the ones made in India (not sure if they have factories in different countries). At less than $3/spiral bound notebook, they're cheap enough that I feel no guilt in using them for just about any purpose.

I love sharing what I've managed to learn along the way! 😁

3/ …so hopefully I get approved for release surgery.

In the meantime, I will see what my provider suggests and manage with bracing, acetaminophen and BioFreeze.

This concludes my grump-ass rant after getting up early to deal with MORE snow.

2/ …making me dizzy, sleepy and foggy during the day. Cursory research shows that it’s also a drug that leads to dependency.

Greeeeaaat.

Yeah, I’m taking myself off this shit. I’ve sent a message to my provider about alternatives. I’ve an appt in late January with an orthopedic specialist…

Quilting anything larger than a placement on a domestic machine, even with all the attempts at making it ergonomic, has always been very taxing for me.

I really should find that QAYG project I have, especially since I started it before I bought my good machine… Time to tote dive! 😂
December 2, 2025 at 1:15 AM
My machine, a Pfaff Expression 710, was in that price range, and is theoretically capable of handling a full-sized quilt. The problem is that one still has to account for the drag of the weight on the machine AND the user. It’s a lot, and if you struggle with fatigue or an RSI, it’s even harder.

I purchased the TrueCut TrueSharp Rotary Blade Sharpener: a.co/d/31TotN7

It does the job, but I was terrible about letting it go long enough to sharpen the blades enough 😂

Even doing a low loft batting, it's impossible for me to wrestle anything larger than lap-size through my domestic sewing machine. Anything bigger, goes out for longarming (I love quiltingbydavid.com).

Quilt-as-you-go is a great option! Book rec: a.co/d/hndOk5X

That’s so funny - I used to be a framer too!

The quilting term (if you want to look up tutorials) is flange, and it does give a really crisp finish to a quilt!
