I could NOT walk away. I feared burning out on the roguelite loop but I wanted to complete the epilogue story
And last night, after ~15 extra hrs, I did 🥹 and it was so. damn. worth it 👏👏👏

Hades II 🌙

Last night, by my 5th run I’d made it to Hades 2’s 3rd boss, and I had moment where I felt it:
So long as I don’t burn out on the roguelite repetition, Hades 2 won’t only be a top 5 game for me this year, but it’ll be the 1st contender to break into my top 3 since May 😱

Nothing about my usual play habits screams tower defense or RTS and I’m even kinda picky with character action. And Kunitsu-gami is a weird blend of all of those. But the beautiful kabuki presentation pulled me in & it was easily a top 10 game of 2024 for me 🔥

I still have post game but I want to say this now: I’ve often called DQ “Smile, the game.” DQ is the classic JRPG gameplay I love w a perfect blend of levity & tragedy. Playing these 2 remakes while dealing w bad news these past weeks has literally been a saving grace 🥹💙

I still have post game but I want to say this now: I’ve often called DQ “Smile, the game.” DQ is the classic JRPG gameplay I love w a perfect blend of levity & tragedy. Playing these 2 remakes while dealing w bad news these past weeks has literally been a saving grace 🥹💙
