I played a lot of MTG this past weekend, including getting to do a couple of 5-player drafts with my ATLA cube. I was excited to finally test it out, and my mahjong friends were also looking forward to seeing it, haha. Since we had less than 6 players, we did 5 packs of 9 cards each for each player.

I played a lot of MTG this past weekend, including getting to do a couple of 5-player drafts with my ATLA cube. I was excited to finally test it out, and my mahjong friends were also looking forward to seeing it, haha. Since we had less than 6 players, we did 5 packs of 9 cards each for each player.
Went to the same Gundam locals as last night for the final day of their league. There were 7 players there tonight, and Hatsu and I were on blue/white Freedom Rebuild as usual.
Won the first round against red/white Neo Zeon; he didn't draw many pilots, so it was pretty easy for me to take control.

Went to the same Gundam locals as last night for the final day of their league. There were 7 players there tonight, and Hatsu and I were on blue/white Freedom Rebuild as usual.
Won the first round against red/white Neo Zeon; he didn't draw many pilots, so it was pretty easy for me to take control.

Went to the same Gundam locals as last night for the third day of their league. There were only 7 players tonight, and Hatsu and I were both on blue/white Freedom Rebuild as usual. I did swap out another Michaelis and one Suletta for a fourth Perfect Strike and third Rick Dias though.

I have to deal with some car maintenance this morning, so I probably won't stream today. And given the upcoming holidays, I might just hold off on streaming until next year. After all, the only day I'd be able to stream this month is next Wednesday, haha.

The usual Wednesday night locals for Gundam just started their second league, this time taking place on both Wednesdays and Thursdays this month, so Hatsu and I attended today for the first day of that new league. We were both on blue/white Freedom Rebuild as usual, though he changed his deck to

Went to another Newtype Challenge, this time at the usual Wednesday night locals. There were 33 players tonight, and Hatsu and I were both on blue/white Freedom Rebuild as usual. After the small changes from last time, I decided to take out the one new Aerial Rebuild for a third Gundam RX-78.

Went to a Newtype Challenge tonight at the card shop with the hands-off owner. There ended up being 32 players exactly tonight. Hatsu also made it out, and we were both on blue/white Freedom Rebuild as usual. However, I did swap out Zowort for Rick Dias and added one of the new Aerial Rebuild.

Spent this evening working on my ATLA cube. I did end up deciding to increase the total to 480 cards, which I accomplished by doubling up on most of the commons. I also added some extra removal on top of that to help deal with the plentiful threats in this set.
I'm reconsidering whether or not I want to make my ATLA cube singleton. I feel like the ratios might be better if I have two of each common instead and bump it up from 360 to 480 cards. That'd also leave more room for the color-fixing lands.

Stupid flip cards... I hate mainboard dual-faced cards in physical card games, but these two are too important to the ATLA limited environment to exclude from my cube. I'm going to use helper cards to represent them so players don't have to keep unsleeving and flipping them, but it's still annoying.

Got these sealed products for my ATLA cube. The Beginner Box is predetermined, but I pulled pretty well from the Jumpstart boxes, so I only had to order a handful of singles online to supplement them. As soon as those singles arrive, I should be able to complete the cube!

Went to one last MTG prerelease for the ATLA set tonight at the card shop where we usually play Gundam on Thursday nights with Hatsu and our Wing Zero friend, and one of our other mahjong/MTG friends also joined us for this one. Despite being the Sunday afternoon event, there were 25 players.

Went to another MTG prerelease for the ATLA set today. I went with three of my old TCG friends, and there ended up being 10 players total for the event. I chose the Aang prerelease kit this time despite the uncommon Aang not being that impressive. My sealed pool was better than yesterday's at least.

Went to a MTG prerelease for the new Avatar: The Last Airbender set with Hatsu and our Wing Zero friend. There were only 6 players total since we went to a smaller card shop. I picked the Katara prerelease kit since I think the uncommon Katara is pretty good, but I didn't pull much good in my pool.

I spent today curating a list for a singleton MTG cube for the new ATLA set using both the main set and the Jumpstart cards. Now it'll just be a matter of collecting all of the cards for it, haha. I'll be attending a few prereleases this weekend, and then I'll probably buy singles after a bit.
