Professor for Genetics interested in chromatin structure, histone variants and histone modifications and their roles in gene regulation and disease development.
Extremely proud of my PhD student Lena Paasche, who won the prize for the best short-talk at the @gfgenetik.bsky.social symposium on "Epigenetics & Chromatin"! She is amazing: as scientist and as a wonderful and empathic person!

Exciting times ahead!
We visited the laboratories and offices that we will be moving into at the end of this year after complete renovation (still a lot to do).
Thank you @jlugiessen.bsky.social for finding a new home for us!

Our group has a new Dr. rer. nat.! 🎉
Tim Wunderlich defended his excellent dissertation on ZNF512B with distinction.
This fantastic achievement was afterwards celebrated appropriately with colleagues, friends, examiners and family!
Congratulations, Dr. Wunderlich! We are so proud!
