I'm getting tired of being made to feel bad every time I make a mistake or something goes wrong, when 99% of the time, I'm fixing other people's mistakes or accidents. Going to lock myself in my office, listen to Surface pressure on loop, cry, and enter grades.

Nothing like spending 40 minutes trying to get students to engage, just to have slack-jawed stares and silence. I love being a teacher, so fulfilling.

SO now works at the school with me. This means I am stuck here, but I guess I'll learn to tolerate the freshman.

It's a staff development day. I had everything done before 10 a.m., but I am expected to stay until 4 p.m.

I am so glad that, on top of my job teaching resentful teenagers, I have a home life that involves at least 60% absorbing stress from someone who looks for things to make her angry when she is bored.

Finally got to see a chiropractor. Going to take 6 months to undo the damage the last three months did, but may be able to walk without needing a cane for fear of my back locking up and me falling again.

The next three days are going to be so rough. Little shits don't want to do anything at the best of times, and now they are halfway to a week off for fall break.

So someone started a rumor about a possible shooting at the school where I teach. The police says it's not a credible threat but police presence increased on campus as a precaution. Of course, kids are building on the rumor for whatever reason their undercooked brains come up with.

I got through my most challenging classes with only having to threaten to call in the Vice Principal once. It's an improvement.

I'm going to stick it out until the end of the school year. Then, over the summer, I'm going to look for a job that actually pays and doesn't involve having to put up with kids who think “school is prison” because I won't let them play games during class time.

Not sure I am going to be able to keep teaching. Kids are just making it a horrible experience.
