Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to install a cat flap and then persuade said cat to use it. Guess which bit remains unresolved?

We’ve just adopted a cat and this evening she was very brave and came out of hiding to say hello.

Doing phone calls this morning and finding it very soothing to fill my eyes with this pretty little flower on the cactus in my office.

The mouse is out and about. He just ran past me in the kitchen and I didn’t jump or anything. I’m clearly more grounded than I thought.

Choose 20 books that have stayed with you or influenced you. One book per day for 20 days, in no particular order. No explanations, no reviews, just covers.

Speaking of #poetry, as I was earlier, isn’t it amazing how fragments of poems stay with you? This poem, by Norman MacCaig, was one of our set texts in Scottish literature class more years ago than I care to remember. And yet for some reason it stuck.

I’m finding comfort in this poem today while there is so much in the news that’s painful, difficult, infuriating and challenging. Take time out for yourself.
