Give me a book on the porch with birds chirping and I'm happy. Daughters, a granddaughter, husband and the dog. 🧢⚾️🐦
Today's #BirdOfTheDay is #Headshots
He was going up the tree and stopped. Red-bellied Woodpecker 🪶

The day was sunny and as afternoon approached the birds got floofier and floofier! I tried HotHands and thin gloves and my fingers were still cold. 😬

This might be the first time I've noticed a Mourning Dove with a happy face. There are scattered seeds under the feeder! 🪶

Happy Thanksgiving! This seemed to fit for a day of Thanksgiving feasting. Mr Red-bellied Woodpecker is devouring his favorite seeds while House Finches and a Tufted Titmouse would appreciate a snack. May 31, 2025 🪶

There was sunshine today and the House Finch claimed the finch feeder. The Chipping Sparrows seem to believe it beings to them. 🪶

Tuesday was rainy, and gloomy, but a good day to watch the feeder under a cover to see how many small birds would squeeze in. 🪶

Once upon a time a Carolina Wren sat quietly and every other time they did not.

I was looking for something from September and rediscovered the Tufted Titmice kids playing in old pots and the camellia bush. 🪶

The #BirdOfTheDay theme from @robcrank68.bsky.social is "hanging around" or unusual angles. The answer to that is usually a Tufted Titmouse. #birdbutt #birds

For #Twosday here are 2 scared little Chipping Sparrows. In between rain showers the feeders were busy until the rain returned. Then I spotted these Chippers. As 5 minutes went by I realized they must have frozen after hearing a predator. Then a hawk landed by the road and left with lunch.😬🪶

Who is that? It's s Ruby- crowned Kinglet! That's not who I thought I saw through the #DirtyWindowFilter™️ on this rainy morning! There's been one chattering in the wild area beside our yard for a couple of weeks. 🪶

I have a few from yesterday's Cardinals After Dark. In those few minutes between dusk and too dark for my camera, families with young cousins come to get snacks and play on the ground and in the tree. It has become my place to unwind and just listen for a while.

I'm going to complain about these birds staying out of sight the last couple of days while being heard on Merlin. These are pictures from last November when I was spoiled by their presence.
Pine Warbler, Pine Siskin, Orange Crowned Warbler and a Yellow Rumped Warbler. 🪶

A House Finch was alone and watching the other birds. 🪶

The Tufted Titmouse didn't pose today. We have a #birtdbutt and headless wings. 🪶

A Carolina Wren enjoys a suet feeder unlike most other birds. 🪶

The morning glare on the leaves made it impossible to see who was in the feeder. It was more Chipping Sparrows! The sun was reflecting on so many birds wings as they swirled between trees it was beautiful! 🪶

Good night! The last time I went back out right after dark the were 11 tiny tree frogs on the porch. They don't like it when the light comes on, but I had to bring something in. 🐸

Today's #BirdOfTheDay from @alan678.bsky.social is #warblers of any kind. Last winter we had the Pine Warbler on the left and an Orange Crowned Warbler on the right of the suet feeder. 🪶

While watching the Chipping Sparrows in the feeder, they flew away. It turns out they were all under the feeder looking for scattered seeds. They were very busy. 🪶 3/3

The Chipping Sparrow in the feeder hanging on a tree made all the others leave, then they crowded to the other feeder, in it, on top or hanging on the side. 🪶 2/3
