@petegreensolo.com Just reading about Firsby -you once visited or wrote about Firsby station Pete? Apologies if that was a false memory.
Anyroad, who knew there was a band from Firsby (see photo)

I got a puppy for christmas. Wanted to call it Rover but they made me call it Scamp. Turned out the family dog was dying so my present became the family pet within weeks

Boomer tales: I was 19 when I bought a house, working shifts so on good money. Two workmates lodged with me so the bills always got paid. Googled one of them after 50 years. Found a pic below. He used to free climb the underside of tunnels for practice. Glad to find last night he's still alive.

I grew Maestro summer carrots for the first time. Pretty pleased. Germinated well, grew on to be stubby carrots. Very good flavour. Still sticking with autumn king for winter carrots though.

My Romanian grower friend insisted I try his Romanian tomato varieties. He also lent me his big ladder so I could climb up for a chat with our gargoyle. Happy days, buggering about.

Early main crop, Acoustic. Crop 18 weeks in the making. Ready for grading and storing tomorrow. Not half bad for such a dry summer. Two weeks until the main crop red Roosters, they are dying off already. Before you say it, we eat a lot of taties everywhichway.
