Old joskin man who writes a fortnightly stitherum for #gtfc by webthingy Cod Almighty. Prefers reading to listening. Break even enthusiast. Grower.
I just daydreamed that Gilsenan comes on, scores and then celebrates with a Poutonian high-stepping run. Suspect side effects from that shingles vaccination.

Pleased to announce that we have won the postcode lottery.
Yes, a two litre pyrex casserole (with lid) is winging its way to us as I write. Who needs money?

Had a nervous tea of garlic courgette and mushroom enchiladas. Hope this is lucky food - I bloody love enchiladas and froze a vat of sauce in the summer for nights like this. Come on Town!

My day with Grimsby's cup heroes - and what makes the Mariners special
DOMINIC KING: Grimsby entertain Brentford on Tuesday evening, aiming to reach the quarter-finals of the League Cup for the first time since 1985 - and they will carry the backing of all neutrals.

Tish Murtha’s photographs of childhood in the Seventies are just the best. So evocative, every frame a time capsule.

@petegreensolo.com Just reading about Firsby -you once visited or wrote about Firsby station Pete? Apologies if that was a false memory.
Anyroad, who knew there was a band from Firsby (see photo)

I read that the Pizza Huts in Grimsby ad Scunny have closed.
Fear not for Sleaford's very own Pizza Hot is still soldiering on.

It might be infra dig to talk about top division football but Aston Villa just scored the most beautiful goal. Started by a 50 yard volley pass out wide that was Greenesque.

This morning finds me in posh company in the wilds of Hykeham at the Mercedes garage getting the Smart car serviced. The coffee and biscuits are endless, the vibe is entitled county set. Can't wait to make my excuses and leave, pockets bulging.

Just seen that Cummins might not be fit for the first Ashes match. You gotta cling to what bits of hope you can, eh?

It was a foggy five degrees at daybreak so time to take in the winter Provence squashes.

Boomer tales: I was 19 when I bought a house, working shifts so on good money. Two workmates lodged with me so the bills always got paid. Googled one of them after 50 years. Found a pic below. He used to free climb the underside of tunnels for practice. Glad to find last night he's still alive.

I made a minor faux pas in the other place earlier, thinking todays diarist had referenced The Brothers Band. He actually wrote about the (Cowley) Brothers brand. Does anyone else remember that local 70s Grimsby band? Covers mainly as I recall. Recorded an album at the Valiant. See discogs.

Had the worst day ever. I paid a joiner to build me a double bed and he's done a bunk.
It's just one thing on top of another.

Some politician is quoted as saying yesterday "my policies will pay off. Eventually".

The mantra of many football managers - a similar fate is in prospect for her as of 99% of them I suspect.

Had a date with a proper old fashioned seamstress this morning. She plies her trade upstairs through a door marked staff only in a special mums and toddlers only caff. Suspicious glances were cast as I entered. Anyroad, upstairs I got to say the word placket for the first time in public. Yea!

This day has gone unexpectedly downhill From happily brining cucumber and onion to make relish, I ended up following an ambulance to Boston A+E (as the wife fell and broke her shoulder). But the worst of it was having to listen to Starmer for 45 minutes on the way.
