The US government has done a great many things, many of them in the decade or two after JFK, that rightly caused a sharp decline in public trust. But they didn't kill JFK and they didn't do anything to cover up or obfuscate who had killed JFK.

The engaged couple and the kid saying "There are no wars to die in" are giant red flags for that. Crimson, even.

I can't say much on my personal faith, as inconsistent and incongruent as it is. But I wish the Orthodox church the best when confronting this wave of radicals, and I hope they are able to calm them down and let them be normal, church-going folks.

One radical person in an Orthodox church has a much more outsized influence than a Catholic or Protestant church (notwithstanding extremely tiny rural churches). And the idea of a more "hard-line" church appeals greatly to Christian Nationalists.
