My love for public transport withers on days like this when on the way up the train 'might not' ride to the end stop (it didn't) and now I had to switch trains three times and wait 45 minutes for a 12 minute ride.
This month I played three spoopy games: Paranormasight, Resident Evil (Remake) and Silent Hill. I didn't particularly vibe with REmake, especially its first half. Silent Hill, on the other hand, was absolutely superb.

Back from the optometrist and my eyes got worse once again. (sigh) Yes, my work involves a screen 8 hours a day. Yes, most of my hobbies involve screens. Only way forward I see is making that 20-20-20 rule a habit.

Haven't been keeping up with reading this year, so I started to lag behind on my bare minimum of one book a month. To get back in shape, I finished three this month and currently browsing my vast #Calibre database for a fourth one.

Finished #Lufia2 last night. Loved the unconventional dungeon designs, the overall pacing, the music and that ending in particular. It has soul and it's a classic for a good reason.

I never found out the root issue of my #homeserver reboots, but thankfully a new SSD and a fresh #Proxmox installation fixed whatever caused it. It's been running like a charm ever since I turned it back on, even throughout the holiday.

Got somewhat back into a rhythm after my amazing 4-week trip through #Japan . Even though it was pretty challenging combining the heat, crowdedness, travelling with two kids and an ambitious itinerary, I had an absolute blast.

Even in Spanish, I can tell why Le Guin's prose is so praised. No wasted words, no flowery descriptions of pristine waters, surging from the mountains of fluffanor, where fafnor son of fofnar once walked and danced. My attention span just ain't there anymore, so the conciseness is much appreciated.

In the past week, I travelled through Aomori, Hakodate, Shiraoi, Sapporo and Otaru. Now I'm on my way back to Tokyo from Kamakura to unwind for the final days of this amazing #Japan trip.

If I scan the NFC tag on the door to the kids' room it disables the motion sensor, dims the lights to a warm colour and slowly fades in brown noise while playing music box versions of my favourite game music on an old speaker hooked up to an old phone with a cracked screen.

The only thing I regret about the #SteamDeck is that I didn't get one sooner. It's so comfortable compared to my other handhelds and it plays pretty much everything I've thrown at it. I wasn't planning to, but I've already started and (re)played games I already bought for other platforms.
