The post war LCC out country estates seem to be rather green, Harold Hill especially so. Merstham, where I grew up seemingly remained many existing trees when the estate was built, but a fair few were lost in 1987 and not replaced.

You missed the bizarre mini storm. Sunny to torrential rain, lightning and high winds, then back to sunny. All in about 15 minutes.
