There’s an adoration that this country’s most prestigious class has, in that they find intelligence is nice but ultimately unimportant if it doesn’t generate wealth.

That class ideology is so perverted now that they cannot even recognize mediocre intelligence.

The stewards of modern American conservatism now are people like Weiss, Vance, RFK, etc. Successful in ways, sure, but ultimately in positions of power because they cant get there on merit alone. They are dependent on their powerful benefactors to ever get this far, and therefore extremely loyal.
