I'm speculating that the sell here is a sense of modernness. Powder feels old timey, and out of place with inexplicably wifi-enabled dishwashers. Pods feel inherently modern.
They're not *easier*, just more *future-y*, and ngl, I think this even worked on me until I watched these videos.

This is bugging me more than anything else about the picture, tbh. Using black and white as a shorthand for the 1970's means you don't even understand the superficial stereotypes of the nostalgia you're trying to invoke. It was a garishly oversaturated decade, if anything.

"History Old Photos" doesn't seem to know the difference between the 1970's and the 1950's, either. Maybe they ate too many Cchinges as a kid.
