Crossbow question, for good measure. It’s like “Ah, but accessibility!” But disabled hunters are already allowed to use crossbows and if you want something more powerful and easier to use than a compound, there’s 2 weeks of shotgun season already!

I’m honestly open to law changes if there’s evidence they won’t negatively impact public safety. The way these questions implied Mass is an out-of-touch outlier pissed me off, though, and I let them have it.

Realistic version as a settled family man who hates moving and is a nearly pathological Yankee

The map that’s going around lately. First round. Honestly if I were actually in the sort of position I was in in my 20’s, where moving for opportunities and such is easier, I’d probably be more open-minded about a lot of the orange and even red sections here. I did live in Tennessee.

Celebrated my 40th birthday by getting a group of friends together to spend the weekend together and ride the 6 Gaps route in the Green Mountains of Vermont: 130 miles and 12,000 feet of climbing. A route I’d wanted to complete after doing 4 of the 6 gaps 7 years previously.

A little bit of inspiration to take from 1850’s Boston. From Battle Cry of Freedom by James McPherson.

To be fair, they didn’t overcook it TOO much. I’m screenshotting the two relevant paragraphs here. But it’s worth noting that the context is De Crescenzo noting that the UCI Worlds course doesn’t suit her or most other LTGP pros, which is straightforwardly true.

Another fun fact from the Strava archives: I thought I’d never done a century over 20 mph average by elapsed time, but it turns out I did it over 12 years ago.

This evening I’ve added some JCrew 7” shorts to the ensemble, worn over the bibs, cause I’m going to a beer garden and want pocket access for wallet and such. Get my ass, fashion police.

My dear friend Noel posted his race bike of the late 2010’s on team Slack and I couldn’t resist making some annotations.

I have a CAAD10 ready to get back on the road, but I can’t help cruising over to the Ritchey website and, well….

It’s definitely sleeved in some fashion, the shell is OS but these inserts aren’t going anywhere. Not sure how to classify this. But it doesn’t creak.

And this from Noem is (typically) brain dead. “Mutual aid agreements between states,”!? Are you fucking kidding me?? THAT’S WHAT THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT IS FOR.

It bugs me that automotive publications and reviewers are so gah-gah over every damn vehicle now being designed like Toxic Masculinity: The Car. Here’s Car and Driver on the new Outback. You can practically hear the fapping.

Ah yes. The joy of racing gravel in April in New Hampshire. Can’t wait. 💀

Complete head scratcher of a response from Specialized PR to a question about the role this guy has at the company, too. Is this the position of PeopleForBikes, then? The corporate position of Specialized? Huh?

Slapping a sticker from my defunct podcast on my car’s buttcheek, cause why not.

I don’t think Democrats should deliver tariffs for the UAW, the UAW is wrong that this will be good for UAW members, but even if they’re right, most Americans aren’t UAW and tariffs will hurt them.

Great crowd at #standupforscience Boston. This was while the crowd was still growing, before the (fabulous) speakers got going.
