The joys of autumn in the south; balmy high 60s during the day & below freezing tonight. Tried to weatherize our back deck as much as possible, sacrificed the last of the tomato plants & cleaned off the fire pit. Need to clean the hummingbird feeders still but taking a break #puttering 🪶 #GardenSky

A pile of orange fall leaves and acorns are swept together for a huge squirrel feast. Cleaned off the fire pit and burning off the collection of seeds, leaves, and acorns from over the past year. Flames are just peeking around the stones that are slowly warming up.

I wish I had the words to express how much of an inspiration you were to me as a child and still today. Thank you for teaching entire generations of girls & women that it's more than ok to be ourselves, whatever that looks like.

Now, if we could just get out of the Bible belt & get out to the PNW. We're starting to get to the desperation point.
I am enveloped in a light grey wearable heated blanket. It can be worn from behind as a bathrobe, which is how I'm wearing it in the picture. Or from the front as an electric blanket. It has a foot pocket, a front pocket, and sleeves, so even as a blanket your hands are free to use, but still covered. Adaptable. I can wear this in my wheelchair too. And it's fuzzy. The inside is made of a white fleece material.
