So many nuts and so little sugar blobbery! Am I keen on having spent $15 on a pound and a half of nuts for one pie? Not really. But that’s what these festive days require.

Here ya go. A couple tweaks I’ve made over a few years of making this:
- I sub equal parts honey and maple syrup plus a tbs of better for the corn syrup. Heat and stir until combined, let cool for 10 min before using.
- I add an extra quarter cup of chopped nuts to the filling.

I make this Pecan Pie every year. The filling is 50% chopped nuts which makes it less sweet. And it’s baked in a spring form pan to give it that impossibly tall crust. We call it a “stunt crust.”

This is my all-time favorite single panel. It’s from a mid-60s MAD Magazine and is one of the most subversive comics I’ve ever seen. It’s true to the character and compels you to imagine the scene in Mr. Wilson’s home minutes earlier. It’s perfect.
