I’m not one to criticise awards (I’ve been on judging panels and it’s a real privilege), but I’m quite disappointed by the Grammy nominations for Best Comedy Album

“Save £5,000!” is doing some real heavy lifting on the Black Friday sales at Andertons Music store 🤣

I didn’t know that Bluesky has automatic moderation that hides stuff you might not want/need hidden

Go To Settings, Moderation, then click this purple Advanced button to make your own choices — some of this might be very welcome, but some of my settings were too prudish

Mr Scorsese is such a superb documentary series on Apple TV — I learned tonnes about Scorsese’s life and work

Black Bag is a fun little movie — a 90 minute Soderbergh spy thriller in the Tinker Tailor fashion. It’s smooth, stylish, sexy and short. Good cast, with Blanchett & Fassbender on top form, and some funky music from David Holmes

Got kids aged 8+? Get them my latest book! It's a chaotic rollercoaster ride through the Stone Age -- it's tonnes of fun, full of the latest scientific discoveries, is cowritten with the expert archaeologist @brennawalks.bsky.social, and is illustrated by @rikinparekh.bsky.social. Cheers!

Went to Hatchlands in Surrey and witnessed the two great sights in nature: a rainbow and a Frankenduck

Scrolling through my 5,000 photos on my phone, trying to organise them into albums, and stumbled on this important piece of journalism from 2022 🤣🤣🤣

One of the loveliest sights for any author, finding your own books in a bookshop — still makes me very, very happy

The Ian Watkins story was utterly horrific and shocking when it was first revealed. It also had a devastating effect on his former band mates in Lost Prophets, as explored in Ian Winwood’s sobering book Bodies about the dark side of the rock music industry

Thrilled to share a clip from our funny new children's audiobook about the Stone Age. I had such fun writing and narrating this with the brilliant archaeologist @brennawalks.bsky.social

In this clip, join Homo Erectus on a scavenging hunt... but they're in for a nasty, LOUD surprise! (Sound on!)

This release comes just a week after my previous audiobook in the series, about Roman Britain, won an award for Best Children’s Audiobook - cowritten and narrated by me and @emmasouthon.bsky.social

Hopefully your kids will enjoy the high energy narration, comedy sketches, music, and SFX

Happy to report Deep Cover (free to watch on Amazon Prime) is very funny, and features a top cast having a blast — a rare fusion of UK comedy talent and Hollywood action chops

Some lovely pics (by Will Ireland) of last night's The Week Junior's Children's Book Awards -- here you can see me and @emmasouthon.bsky.social in various stages of shock and confusion after our book, TOTALLY CHAOTIC HISTORY: ROMAN BRITAIN GETS ROWDY, won Best Children's Audiobook!
