Archaeologist, musician, writer, outside dude. Cat dad. Needed a place to plug my creative wares that hasn’t decided to embrace bigotry for profit.
Drummer/singer of https://clamfight.bandcamp.com
Saw this beast coming at me at the same I got a “who’s raincoat is this?” text from a coworker.
In Virginia.
‘Twas my raincoat.

Big time 45-year old move: buying your own fan for shows.
Rare Sunday, old people appropriate show this afternoon in West Chester. We play at 5(!) batting clean up for the homies in Double Planet and Brain Candle.

I’m still no good at Blue Sky, but tonight we honor our brother and collaborator Steve Poponi. Come watch me have emotions.

Wild days when @lairdbarron.bsky.social ‘s fiction provides a much needed break from doom scrolling. This story is a deliriously good time. All hail the Gray Eminence. Maybe It can save us.

Not sure I’ve ever had to put a horror novel aside for a few days due to it being utterly heartbreaking but here we are. There hasn’t been a book by @sgj.bsky.social that I haven’t loved but this feels like the one people will be teaching in a 100 years.
Hopefully.

Saw more ospreys than seagulls, at least one whale, and dolphins today. I’ve fished all my life and have never seen the numbers of marine mammals I’ve seen in the last ten years. I can’t stress how hard you should fuck yourself if you voted for the current administration. They would undue all this.

From a Spanish YouTube review. I want to put “he rips his clothes off and bares his soul” in my work email signature.

Woke up to Mount Etna erupting.
This rules incredibly hard.

“Clamfight” the title track from the record, “Clamfight” by the band Clamfight is on Deciblog.

Gearing up for some big travel, and have a lot of record release stuff coming too…thus I’m grabbing Father/Daughter loaf sessions while I can.
Got into a cool anthology and have a lot of stuff floating in the submission ether but editing and new words on paper are unlikely for a bit.
That’s ok.

Many things are rugged right now, but the probable line up for our record release show is BLISTERING.
I need to get on the exercise bike, like yesterday.

I get up early and write before work because when else am I going to do it, but this little creature sitting shotgun certainly eases the pain.

Riding for our dude on 6/21/25 at Underground Arts in Philly! Stacked line up and all the proceeds go to Steve’s family.

I’ll never write two more ominous sentences than this request for a fish ID. I guess I have to quit writing horror now?

Missing, “Let This Radicalize You” by Kelly Hayes and Mariame Kaba. Not sure the last time my current reading pile was all quality. Had to crack @lairdbarron.bsky.social’s “Not a Speck of Light” the second it arrived and immediately wanted to cancel all plans and spend the night getting creeped out.

Many things are bad….seals though, even in shit weather, are good. PS-Admittedly I was straining my phone’s capabilities to get this long distance footage but wow, Bluesky is clearly not a platform for sharing video.

Rural America gets a lot shit but you can always find at least one pretty OK Mexican restaurant wherever you end up and that’s worth celebrating.

Getting close to another 50 hour week. Get yourself a small cat to cheer you on as you write and submit fiction in the small hours before work.

Got home from the field today and the cat smelled faintly of curry.
This is not in her usual repertoire of smells (baked goods, dryer sheet, trout fresh from a mountain stream) so…uh….Baby Child, what did you do today?

Look with the constant flood of Marvel movies/total forgettable Ryan Reynolds/the Rock streaming crap out there, it’s easy to forget that a ton of great movies came out this year. These are my favorites.

Having to leave this creature every morning is further proof that capitalism is bullshit.
