(1/4) Last week in Vienna, Initiative partner Open Nuclear Network had the honour of participating in the 69th @iaeaorg.bsky.social General Conference. The ONN team engaged with all 31 GP countries and shared resources on countering #disinformation narratives that could target the IAEA.

(3/3) This research also showed evidence that efforts to refute or debunk false narratives can mitigate the harmful impact of disinformation. However, it is only somewhat effective and should be used as part of a multipronged approach with prebunking measures.

(2/3) Findings from this project suggest that disinformation can change the way state actors think about pursing BW programmes, which shows how harmful this threat is to cooperative threat reduction activities and international security.
