In fact, wearing a respirator is how we enter society. It’s how we deal with living with people that do not understand the danger, and if they read the telegraph… they never will.

Note the linkage between the takeover of medical decision-making by "Evidence Based Medicine" heuristics - where 2+2 can be 5 if those running the process want it to be - and the explicit rejection of the value of the subject matter expertise that provides safeguards against manipulation:

OK this is ridiculous. The draft new Canadian public health guidance-development mechanism doubles down on excluding subject matter experts from voting roles, restricts membership to people from inside the EBM pseudoscience bubble, and sets up to funnel public money to McMaster-GRADE courses etc.

It's ridiculous that (at least) one of the country's most prominent medical schools taught students concepts that were out of date before their grandparents were born!
