Sometimes the UK government gets it right. I just taxed my car, and it was simply a matter of going to the website printed in big text on the letter, typing in the number in big numbers on the letter, clicking "pay by card" and letting it hoover up 360 quid.

Ten seconds. That's it for another year.

Reading this, I can actually smell the lathe oil and solvent cleaner in my dad's old workshop. The company he worked for had an extensive library of these, and I used to sit and read them when I went along with him sometimes.

Happy New Year all!

My New Year's resolution this year is the same as last year - 3840x1080.

Honestly I think the main reason I like using grep -n is because of the Joker colour scheme and I just imagine it reading out what it finds in a Jack Nicholson voice.

Rather than apologising for his antisemitism, Farage demands the BBC apologise for the antisemitism of Alf Garnett, a fictional character created to satirise antisemitism, who was portrayed by a Jewish man.

not sure how to square ‘no one person can be reasonably expected to pay for every media subscription’ with ‘sorely underpaid writers need to make a living’ but my inclination is not to locate that problem with any of the broke ass people on either end of the complaint

Can't reply in the original thread, or to either of the posters, but my son just brought this back from the library and has spent all weekend telling people about Tasselled Wobbegongs. A 5-year-old carpet shark enthusiast.
They are hilarious-looking creatures, but apparently bitey if you annoy them.
Have you seen the kids book 'You're Called What?', about animals visiting the ministry of silly names to change theirs? The tasselled wobbegong features, and it's generally a joy throughout, highly recommend for younger kids
