Microslop's CEO, Slopya Slopdella is mad, because we don't want to use Slopilot 690.

Won't someone think of the rich? 😭

Another reason why people should use @kagi.com

"But I don't want to pay for a search engine."

At first, I was skeptical too, but no AI responses and relevant results convinced me. They also have a mission to eradicate slop; it can't get any better than that.

Google and Bing kill the web with AI.
This chart shows the total number of Stack Overflow questions asked each month. As you can see, AI summaries in Google and AI coding tools have nearly killed the site. It is only a matter of time before the site shuts down completely. The golden age of independent web is over.

Just finished watching the last season of #StrangerThings and it's not as bad as others say it. I had a pleasant time watching it.

The way the press is treating chatbots, like they have agency and they “know” things all of a sudden, crossed the line recently from dumb and obsequious to something else entirely. Treating them as alive and making conscious decisions is an almost religious belief. It won’t age well.

I just found a cool app called Openvibe, which shares the same post between Mastodon, Bluesky and Threads. It's easier to handle multiple accounts like this.

I hate copy-pasting. 😅

I've got "Steam Controller at home". Works perfectly with Bazzite. It both Steam-exclusive and generic Xbox input modes, from which the former is perfect for Big Picture, as you can use all the HUD stuff that are also on the Steam Deck. But I use it with a Legion 5 laptop.

Hey @theverge.com are you shitting me? 🙂 Did you paywall your website just to screw over paying customers, too? You have no shame. This is why journalism is dying. People use ad blockers because for websites like yours just nothing is enough. If someone pays, the bare minimum is 0 ads, 0 tracking.

I'm so freaking tired of charging my smart watch that I just ordered a CASIO F-105W. See you in 7 or so years with my battery percentage update.

It should've been TRON! Why do people have bad taste in movies? 😭
The ‘Avatar’ franchise is now the first trilogy in history to gross $6B at the global box office 💰

There’s a big reason (besides ethics and marketing) that doubling down on generative AI is a bad idea.

By using Gen AI they drive up demand for the PC components used in data centres.

Same components both PC and Console gamers pay for to play games during a cost of living crisis.

a neat (and scary) survey into AI "companions" and kids www.aura.com/reports/stat...

"nearly half of the time kids and teens use AI, it is
for companionship, and when they do, the themes of discussion are primarily sexual, romantic, and violent."

Fuck you people. Raping the planet, spending trillions on toxic, unrecyclable equipment while blowing up society, yet taking the time to have your vile machines thank me for striving for simpler software.

Just fuck you. Fuck you all.

I can't remember the last time I was this angry.

I wonder when will tech bros realise that there is no money in AI. When the same parties give loan to each other (on paper) for the task they are good at, the money circulates between them, which means that nobody spends a penny. This is smoke and mirrors, an illusion. Consumers pay the price only.

Either Ableton Live should work on Linux or Satya Nadella to be closed into a torture chamber for the rest of his life, so Windows could finally be fixed, because for the forthcoming feature, it's very unlikely that I could make music without issues and compromises. I gave up fighting against my PC.

The Indie Game Awards had a direct attack against Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Not sure if they were bored or Ubisoft bribe them to bully their ex-employees, but not giving them an award was intentional.

Blue Prince also used AI during its development, but somehow they are fine with it.
