As noted in the original post the rice was cooked in a ginger-garlic broth - I simply didn’t serve a separate bowl alongside. That’s traditional, but not mandatory. Glad you liked the photo.

Hi Helena, I didn’t make the chicken broth for this one and went with a miso dipping sauce instead. With the smashed cucumber on the side, it felt like there was already enough going on in the way of sauce. I know exactly that feeling of falling for a dish - hence the eagerness to recreate it.
